Mildred Fatima Ribeiro(b. 31 December 1934 Hong Kong)Mildred is the second daughter of Daniel Ribeiro and Ignez Fernandes Together with the family, Millie spent the War Years in Macau, where she first attended Idalia da Luz Private School and then to Santa Rosa da Lima. When the family returned to Hong Kong after the war, she attended St. Mary’s in Kowloon and graduated in 1953. After completing her secretarial course at Maryknoll’s in 1954 Millie commenced her working career from a small import-export company to Jardine’s Airways as Secretary to the Mail & Cargo Officer. In 1959 she left Hong Kong and immigrated to San Francisco. In San Francisco, she spent a year with a steamship company, nine years as Secretary to the Regional Manager of Continental Grain Company. She then joined Getz Bros. & Co., Inc., a conglomerate multinational non-commodity trading corporation headquartered in San Francisco in January 1970 and worked as Secretary to the Vice President/Chief Financial Officer for 17 years. She was then promoted to Administrative Assistant to the President in 1987, and culminated an illustrious career after 27 years at Getz, retiring at age 62. Millie likes travelling, reading maps, fishing, gardening, painting, photography, loafing, and lawn-bowling since retirement. Millie also enjoys good food and good wine and is an excellent cook.Millie married Bernard Anthony Brown in Pacifica, California, the youngest son of Camilla Brown (nee Collaco) and Frederick John Brown. Born in Hong Kong on 30 April 1931, Bernard spent the War Years in Macau. He completed his education at La Salle College and Wah Yan College. During the 50s and 60s, he was an active member of Club Recreio and Club Lusitano in Hong Kong. He was active in Sports in his youth - having won the Hong Kong Badmington Open Junior event, twice singles Tennis Champ, also Badmington Champ in Recreio. Bernard's working career was in the Finance Area, where he travelled extensively in the Far East. A highlight of his travels was seeing the Wonder of the World in Ang Kor Vat in Cambodia. Bernard immigrated to the U.S. in 1968 where he worked at Del Monte Corporation until retirement. He now takes an active part in lawn-bowling.
